          Kristo Asafo

 (Christ Reformed Church) Ghana

The Voice of People is Voice of God

Kristo Asafo (Christ Reformed Church) the most cultural religion in the universe is an African Independent Church which was started as a prayer group in 1969 and was transformed into a Church on 3rd February 1971 by Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo in Accra capital of Ghana. The church is a member of the Sabbath Association of Ghana. This is an ecumenical organization that unites churches that identify and recognize Saturday as the Sabbath. The most distinctive features of Kristo Asafo, which sets it apart from other African Initiated Churches in Ghana, are its investment in agriculture, manufacturing and industry and its philanthropy. The Church also trains members and non-members in various kinds of professions and trades such as carpentry, welding, and mechanics. It manufactures and markets electronic, agricultural and other equipment at affordable prices for small-scale businesses. The founder, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo has received many honors including a State honor in Ghana.

APOSTLE EMERITUS DR. KWADWO SAFO (FOUNDER / LEADER OF KAMOG)

He became more involved in philanthropy and contribution to charity from the very onset of Kristo Asafo. From single handedly  feeding some of the stranded Ghanaian returnees from Nigeria in 1983 amidst bush fire and famine that ravaged the country at that time, he donates to Rehabilitation Centers, and other institutions throughout the country and the most  recent one is Rebecca's Foundation. The major public celebration of the church is an annual food, technology and charity exhibition in support of the needy. It showcases farm produce and other products of the Church during the exhibition. At the end of the fair, farm produce and machinery are distributed to selected needy persons and institutions. Apostle and his members donate to all physically-challenged in society from all walks of life.

SERVICE TO MANKIND IS SERVICE TO GOD

Fundamental to Kristo Asafo beliefs are biblical injunctions on Christians to care for the needy. The motto of the Church is ‘Service to mankind is service to God’. The church regularly visits hospitals, prisons, orphanages and educational institutions, etc. and makes substantive donations to them. In 1997, for instance they made a large donation to the University of Ghana, Legon towards the building of a students’ hostel.

Then the king will say onto the people on his right, 'Come you that are blessed by my Father! Come and possess the kingdom which has been prepared for you ever since the creation of the world. I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your home, naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.

The righteous will then answer him, 'When, Lord did we ever see you hungry and fed you, or thirsty and gave you a drink? When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes or naked and clothed you? When did we see you sick or in prison and we visited you? The king will reply, 'I tell you whenever you did this for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me'. Matthew 23:34-40 (Good News Bible)
