"I had to always wait for him to come back from work so that I will get the opportunity to wash his car and get paid. If he comes home and I'm not around, he washes his car and I lose the money so he called me Akrobeto because I was always at home waiting for him.

The Bompata Branch of the Kristo Asafo Church has donated items valued at GH8,000 and cash of GH2,000 to the Kumasi Chilfren's Home. The donation was part of activities marking the 40th anniversary of the church and the birth of its Founder, Apostle Kwadwo Safo. Prior to the presentation, the church, led by its leader, Pastor Osei Kwadwo, undertook a massive clean-up exercise at the home. The items presented included yam, cooking oil, diapers, rice, bread, sugar, toilet rolls, Indomie, laundry and bathing soap. Presenting the items, Pastor Osei said the donation was in line with the church's principles.

PILLARS OF THE CHURCH

He said the cardinal pillars of the church were empathy, selflessness and compassion, hence the decision to always donate to the needy and support to vulnerable in society, as commended by the Bible.

The pastor explained that it was the founder who gave the money to buy the items, adding that it was in line with annual ritual of making a donation to some home.

An officer of the home, Ms Georgina Aikins, received the items on behalf of the home and commended the church for its continued support.

She sad the most pressing needs of the home, among many challenges, were wheelchairs, to aid disabled children and a bus to enhance the activities of the home.

Ms Aikins said the donation was overwhelming and urged other organisations to support the home, especially with wheelchairs for the disabled and vehicles to transport the children to and from the home.

APOSTLE KWADWO SAFO APPEALS FOR GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

September 25, 2017
Apostle Safo and GCCI delegation

Accra, Feb. 14, GNA - Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo on Wednesday appealed to the government to support his technology centre to enable him to create jobs for the people, especially the youth. He said support from the government would enable him to help more youth people, including university students and graduates who had been making use of the practical training at his centre to realise their potential in life. Apostle Safo made this appealed during a visit to his Technology Centre at Gomoa-Mpota , a few kilometers away from the Winneba junction in the Central Region, by members of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).

I did not seek any reward for these initiatives except to help my fellow Ghanaians and prove to the world that the black man is also capable of great technological exploits, he said.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Apostle Safo mentioned that he was giving free training to 550 students from universities, polytechnics and Senior High Schools across the country.

In the electrical section, a number of items were being designed, including a power alternator and some cars on exhibition. There was also a television set that could be switched on and off with clap of one's hand.

Apostle Safo indicated that the centre had embraced commercial automobile production in an ambitious effort to venture into an industry dominated by global economic giants.

He said he had already carried out a successful experiment in the manufacture of a car that had no engine but moved only with the aid of solar-powered battery.

"The purpose of such a vehicle would be to help the country save fuel, which could be used to power big trucks and for other industrial purposes", he explained.

Since its establishment in 1971, the Kristo Asafo Mission, under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Safo, has undertaken what is arguably the largest philanthropic campaign in the country, making huge donations in cash and in kind to educational institutions, orphanages and other needy institutions.

Mr Seth Adjei Baah, President of GCCI who spoke to the Ghana News Agency during the visit, said the purpose of the trip was to help promote Apostle Safo's Technology Centre on the world market. He called on Ghanaians to purchase and protect locally manufactured goods
