KRISTO ASAFO SUPPORTS TWO CHILDREN’S HOMES IN KUMASI
As part of activities preceding the 68th birthday of the founder and leader of Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the mission has presented a number of items valued at GH28,000.00 to resource both Kumasi Children's Home and King Jesus Charity Home, all in Kumasi. While the items at the Kumasi Children's Home were valued at GH 18,000.00, those of King Jesus Charity Home were valued at GH10,000.00. The items included bags of maize and rice, packs of pampers, tubers of yam, boxes of biscuit, buckets of washing powder and cartons of milk. Others were cartons of milo, boxes of cooking oil and soap, bags of sachet water, as well as bottled water and assorted drink.
Ms Akua Sika Safo, who represented her father, Apostle Safo Kantanka, presented the items and the cash respectively at the two needy homes.
CHARITY WORK
She said the church believes in charity work and that supporting needy persons and organisations was its attempt to complement government's effort to resource needy homes since it could not do it alone.
She said it was the prayer of the church that the donation would go a long way to make positive transformation in the lives of the needy children at the two homes. On behalf of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, she appealed to the general public to support all the needy homes in the country so as to reduce pressure on the government.
She, however, pledged the support of the church at all times and called on other churches not to relent in their efforts to collectively help resource needy homes.
The Manageress at the Kumasi Children's Home, Ms Mabel Amponsah, who received the items and the cash on behalf of the home under the Department of Social Welfare, expressed gratitude to the church and called on other churches to also come to the aid of the home.
